Indian-American archer bags silver in Pan American Youth and Masters Championships

He is an eighth-grade student at Wasatch Junior High School.

Indian-American archer Anirudh Kalyan Pinjala earned a silver medal in the mixed team event at the 2026 Pan American Youth  and Masters Championships conducted last month in  Medellín, Colombia. 

Pinjala, 13, contributed to Team USA’s podium success against other talented young archers from all over the Americas. He also performed well individually by placing second in qualifying and fourth in the overall individual rankings.

Pinjala earned his spot on Team USA in May and is one of just two American archers in his category who made the cut for this competition. He competes in the Olympic recurve division and is a national champion, winning a gold medal at the Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) Indoor National Championships in the U14/U13 category in 2024.

Competing since the age of 7, Pinjala trains at facilities including the Easton Archery Center in Salt Lake City. He previously earned multiple honors and scholarships, including the 2025 National Field Archery Association Sectional Travel Scholarship.
