Srishti K. Sabarinath, a 13-year-old Indian citizen with roots in Kerala, has been named Denmark's Child and Youth Bookblogger of the Year at a literary festival in Aalborg, according to the Embassy of India's IndiainDenmark account on X.

The award, presented by Denmark's public libraries, is determined through votes cast by readers, book bloggers and members of the literary community.

According to the Embassy, Sabarinath has promoted Indo-Danish cultural ties through her book blog by encouraging young people to read while introducing Indian literature and culture to Danish audiences.

Beyond book blogging, she serves as a youth leader with Ungeråd KBH and chairs the Copenhagen Youth Council.

Sabarinath moved from India to Copenhagen at the age of five, according to Last Week in Denmark. She began blogging after enrolling in a Danish public school where she was the only international student in her class.

She has described Copenhagen's public library as a place where she found belonging during that transition, saying her book blog "was the beginning of all the good things" in her life. Children's librarian Sigrid Brix credited Sabarinath's passion for reading with inspiring young audiences.

In addition to reviewing books, Sabarinath has advocated for youth participation in public life. Through the Copenhagen Youth Council, she has worked on issues including hidden racism and mental health awareness among young people.

She has also promoted STEM education as an ambassador for Coding Pirates and Ada Lovelace Day, an international initiative celebrating women in computing.

Sabarinath has conducted about 50 interviews for the youth media platform Huligennem, including conversations with authors and Denmark's culture minister. She produces content in both English and Danish.
