The Consulate General of India in Houston joined Geeta Pariwar USA in celebrating Geeta Jayanti at the Vitthal Rukmini Mandir in Houston.
The celebration, coinciding with the ongoing International Gita Mahotsav 2025 in Kurukshetra, featured collective recitation and reflections on the Bhagavad Gita.
Highlighting the lessons of the Gita, the Consulate said on X, "The Gita is a dialogue on a battlefield, but its real Kurukshetra is the human mind, torn between doubt and duty, fear and courage."

It added, "The Gita’s call is simple: perform your duty with integrity, anchor the mind in higher values, and let go of anxious attachment to results. This spirit of karma yoga turns everyday work into worship and leadership into service."
Consul General Prashant Sona also attended the celebrations and emphasized that the teachings of the Gita are not only a spiritual guide but also a living cultural heritage of India that continues to inspire harmony, responsibility and resilience in modern life
The event urged attendees to not only read the scripture but to embody its teachings in their daily lives, transforming ancient wisdom into a practical guide for building inner resilience and fostering social harmony in homes, workplaces, and communities.
