India' envoy to the United States of America, Vinay Mohan Kwatra hosted a farewell reception in honor of his American counterpart, the US ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, at the India House in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 3.
Gor, a Trump loyalist and former White House Presidential Personnel Office Director, was nominated on Aug. 22 as U.S. Ambassador to India and Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs amid trade tensions.
Confirmed by the Senate on Oct. 7, and sworn in by US Vice President JD Vance on Nov. 10, Gor has already met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, to boost defense, trade, and energy ties.
Sharing the news, Kwatra said, "Honoured to host a farewell reception for Ambassador Sergio Gor at India House tonight. Wished him well for his assignment in New Delhi."

Kwatra also thanked "other friends and well-wishers from the administration who joined the celebration, for their steadfast support to the relationship."
The reception was attended by Republican Senator Jim Risch, the Chairman of Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and Republican Congressman Brian Mast, the Chairman of House Foreign Affairs Committee.
