Haigreve Khaitan joins USIBC Global Board

Haigreve Khaitan, Managing Partner of Khaitan & Co, has joined the Global Board of Directors of the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC), the organization announced in a post on X.

USIBC said Khaitan's appointment will support collaboration on trade, investment, and market access as the United States and India deepen their economic partnership.

In a statement shared by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's International Affairs division, Khaitan said he was pleased to join the Global Board at a time of expanding U.S.-India economic ties. Referring to the proposed bilateral trade agreement, he said it has the potential to transform commercial relations and strengthen the trade corridor between the two countries.

Khaitan added that he looks forward to engaging with business and policy leaders while contributing to USIBC's efforts to deepen bilateral economic cooperation.

USIBC, a division of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, represents companies across the United States, India, and the Indo-Pacific, and serves as a leading industry platform connecting businesses and governments in both countries.

Recent additions include Amit Chadha, CEO and Managing Director of L&T Technology Services; K. Balasubramanian, Managing Director and Corporate Banking Head of Citi India; Sanket Ray, President of Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia; and Winselow Tucker, President and General Manager of Eli Lilly India.



The Global Board also includes prominent Indian-American leaders, including former USIBC President Nisha Biswal, who received the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award in 2017 for strengthening India's engagement with the global diaspora.

According to his biography on the Khaitan & Co website, Khaitan has led the firm as Managing Partner for more than three decades, overseeing its growth into one of India's largest full-service law firms. He heads the firm's corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity practices and serves on its National Executive Committee.

His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, corporate governance, restructuring, and regulatory matters, advising Indian conglomerates, multinational corporations, and global investment funds.

According to his biography on the Milken Institute website, Khaitan also serves as an independent director on the boards of Reliance Industries, Jio Platforms, Tech Mahindra, Dalmia Bharat, and Grasim Industries. He is also a member of the Competition Commission of India's Committee for theDigital Competition Act, contributing to discussions on India's evolving digital regulatory framework.
