The private screening of Ravindra Gautam's 'Ajey- the Untold Story of a Yogi' was a breath of fresh air for the people of Dallas as they witnessed how a spiritual seeker became a political leader.

The film, which is inspired by Shantanu Gupta’s book The Monk who became Chief Minister, depicts the biopic of Ajay Singh Bisht’s journey from a young boy to Yogi Adityanath and eventually becoming the incumbent Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh after earning the title of a Mahant. Movie was released in India on September 19, 2025.

The movie stars Anant Joshi in a stellar performance as Yogi Adityanath, Paresh Raval, Dinesh Lal Yadav and Rajesh Khattar.

Here is what some of our Dallas locals have to say about the movie. Satish Koosam, a cloud architect praising each actor, director and author says that they all did justice to their roles layering sincerity, emotions, truth and leadership along with capturing the depths of unwavering commitment to dharma.

Akhil Kumar, technology executive of a leading Sales and Marketing Corporation in North America claims something similar. “The film makes a bold statement with its clear stance of zero tolerance for corruption and criminal nexus, reminding viewers that true leadership is built on integrity and courage”, says Akhil.

Another Dallasite Prakasarao Velagapudi, president of Global Hindu Heritage Foundation writes, “We all remember the saying ‘Dharmo Rakshit Rakshitaha’- if you protect dharma, dharma will protect you. Only weak, insecure, over-jealous and money-minded resort to adharma”.

While this is a must-see movie for young adults, it was disappointing to see so few of them at the movie screening.

Organizers raised approximately $9000 in a two-week period by showcasing only one show per day. According to the movie coordinators, approximately $4000 will be donated to an organization that helps young children in Uttar Pradesh, India.

While the biopic received mixed reviews in India, it is expected to be a hit and well-liked film of 2025 in the United States.
