FIA-Chicago marks Independence Day with vibrant Triranga Car Rally
FIA-Chicago will also host its Grand Independence Day Parade on Aug. 23 at Devon Avenue.

Triranga Car Rally / FIA-Chicago
The Federation of Indian-Americans (FIA) Chicago chapter held its second Triranga Car Rally in Schaumburg on Aug. 15, bringing together nearly 50 decorated vehicles and members of the community to celebrate India’s Independence Day.
The cars displayed the Indian Tricolor alongside American flags, reflecting participants’ love for India, pride in their heritage and connection to the United States.
The rally began with the National Anthem, followed by chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “Vande Mataram,” “God Bless America,” and “Long Live America.” Families and community members joined the event, creating a patriotic atmosphere as they marked India’s Independence Day.

FIA president Hemant Patel thanked Car Rally Chair Sanjay Vora and the participants for their role in making the rally a success. FIA executives, trustees and community leaders were also present.
Organizations represented at the event included Shree Ram Group, Karni Sena, ShreeSanatan Sewa Foundation, Maharashtra Mandal, Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, Vishva Hindu Parishad of America, Sewa International and Ekal Vidyalaya. Senior-care organizations, including MAFS, UMAS, Care for Soul and Happy Hearts, also participated.
The rally highlighted unity, patriotism, heritage and community spirit while honoring both India and the United States.
Following the rally, FIA-Chicago joined thousands of community members at a flag-hoisting ceremony and Independence Day Parade hosted by National India Hub in the Chicago area.
The organization’s Independence Day celebrations will continue with a Patriotic Gala at 6 p.m. on Aug. 16 at Haridham Mandir, with Lieutenant General K.J.S. Dhillon as the chief guest. FIA-Chicago will also host its Grand Independence Day Parade on Aug. 23 at Devon Avenue.
