Eric Roberts joins horror film helmed by Indian-American director

Oscar-nominated actor Eric Roberts has joined the cast of Holy Father, an upcoming horror-thriller written and directed by Indian-American filmmaker Shravan Tiwari.

Roberts, whose career spans more than 735 film credits, including The Dark Knight and Runaway Train, plays Father Wales, an exorcism specialist tasked with performing a high-risk ritual on a possessed priest.

Holy Father marks the second chapter of SRHP Films’ Holy Trilogy, following Holy Ghost, which is streaming in 39 countries on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Google Play Movies. 

The third installment, Holy Son, is currently in development. The Georgia-based studio plans a 2026 release for the new film, produced by Sandip Patel.

Tiwari, born in Prayagraj and now based in the U.S., has built a cross-border filmmaking career that spans short films, Hindi-language crime thrillers, and international streaming projects. 

His previous works include the supernatural drama 706, the crime film Aazam, and the 2024 ZEE5 series Murshid. Known for blending dark themes with genre-driven storytelling, Tiwari expands into global horror with Holy Father, anchoring the project with a widely recognized Hollywood name.

Further casting and distribution details will be announced closer to release.
