Chutney Festival returns to Michigan

The event, which is in its fourth year, is scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.

A vibrant street food festival celebrating the diverse flavors and cultural heritage of South Asian and West Indian communities will be held Aug. 20 in Royal Oak, Michigan.

The Chutney Festival will bring together a wide range of South Asian and West Indian food businesses, offering visitors an opportunity to explore, sample and enjoy a variety of cuisines in one shared space.

Food will be at the heart of the festival, with participating vendors showcasing dishes that reflect the flavors, creativity and cultural traditions of their communities.

The event, which is in its third year, is scheduled from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Royal Oak Farmers Market.

Organizers said the festival aims to create a space where people can discover different cuisines while experiencing the cultural traditions and creativity behind the food. It is expected to bring together food lovers, families and community members for an evening of food, culture and entertainment.

The event is organized by the Shanti Foundation.

It is a community-driven event that brings together an exciting mix of food vendors, artisan makers, craft vendors and local businesses, all in a relaxed, walk-around setting.
