Before she even sets foot in Hyderabad, Laura Williams, the incoming US Consul General to one of India's most dynamic regions, is already making waves. At a luncheon hosted by the Indian American Business Impact Group (IAMBIG) in Washington, D.C., Williams offered more than just diplomatic platitudes — she laid out a vision rooted in partnership, technological collaboration, and, above all, trust.
The gathering was informal in tone but strategic in significance. With a room full of entrepreneurs, technologists, academics, and policy leaders — many of whom actively operate in India — the conversation touched on some of the most critical aspects of the US–India relationship today: visa backlogs, cybersecurity cooperation, innovation partnerships, and economic diplomacy.
