Indian-origin winger Dilan Markanday has joined EFL League Two side Chesterfield FC. Markanday signed a three-year deal, becoming Chesterfield’s first signing of the summer.
He trained at the famed Tottenham Hotspur youth academy and was then signed on with the club in 2021.
Markanday was then brought in by Blackburn Rovers and loaned to Chesterfield FC in 2024, making the 2025 move his second stint at the club.

He then moved to League One side Leyton Orient for the remainder of the season and he scored three goals in 17 appearances.
Announcing Markanday’s signing, the club posted on Instagram and said, “We are delighted to announce the signing of Dilan Markanday on a three-year deal,” and labeled the announcement as “well worth the wait”.
Speaking on the move, Markanday said: “I’m over the moon, really happy. It just feels like coming back home.
“I’m just happy to get over the line and I just want to get back playing football again.
“I’m at my happiest when I’m playing football and there’s no better environment than this to really help me do that.”
