The picnic began with a traditional Gujarati breakfast featuring dal vada, methi bhajiya, potato and chili fritters, fresh jalebi, fafda, papdi, chutney, tea, and coffee. Throughout the morning, participants took part in games including bingo and musical chairs, while DJ Ajay Makwana provided music for the event.
One of the highlights of the gathering was a Garba session, where members danced to traditional Gujarati music. Women also participated in indoor games such as Chopat and Sogthan Baaji, reflecting the organization's focus on preserving cultural traditions among senior members living in the United States.
Lunch included pav bhaji, gulab jamun, and buttermilk, while refreshments such as lemonade, soft drinks, and cold beverages were available throughout the day. In the afternoon, members were served Amul Malai Kulfi, Rajbhog ice cream, flavored ice balls, and fresh watermelon before another round of games and entertainment.
Prize winners in the bingo and musical chair competitions were recognized by BSC President Haribhai Patel and Vice President Hirjibhai Ponkia. The games were coordinated by volunteers Rakshika Anjaria, Damini Patel, Rasila Dobria, and Shilpa Desai.
Alongside the recreational activities, the Sonal Shah Foundation and cardiologist Dr. Prakash Shah organized a free medical camp. According to the organizers, 97 members received cardiac screenings, electrocardiograms, and other health assessments. Sonaben Shah, the charitable trust's main trustee, said more than 97 participants benefited from the health camp.
Sponsors also distributed complimentary items to attendees. Maaco Body Shop, represented by Jatin Patel, provided BSC-branded cloth bags, car glass cleaner, and leather bottle holders, while Homecare and other sponsors distributed promotional gifts through their booths.
The day concluded with an evening meal of vegetable curry, potato and eggplant, bhakhri, khichdi, buttermilk, salad, and mohanthal. BSC President Haribhai Patel thanked the volunteers who helped organize the event, while Bachubhai Paghadal and his team were recognized for managing food service throughout the day.
Following the picnic, several members attended a Sundar Kand program led by Pujya Ashwinbhai Pathak at India Hub, concluding a day of community engagement and cultural celebration.
