Bhadreshdas Swami of BAPS honored with Vedantavidya-Vishwaguru title
He dedicated the honor to lord Swaminarayan and his gurus, Pramukh Swami Maharaj and Mahant Swami Maharaj.

Bhadreshdasji Awarded with Vedantavidya-Vishwaguru / BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha
The Central Sanskrit University conferred the title of “Vedantavidya-Vishwaguru” on BAPS scholar and philosopher Bhadreshdas Swami, recognizing his contributions to Vedanta, Sanskrit literature and Indian philosophical traditions.
The honor was presented at BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham in New Delhi in the presence of senior scholars and religious leaders. The ceremony was attended by Vishwaprasanna Theertha of the Pejavara Adhokshaja Matha in Udupi, Central Sanskrit University vice chancellor Srinivasa Varkhedi, Shree Somnath Sanskrit University vice chancellor Sukanta Kumar Senapati and other academics.

Vice chancellor Varkhedi said Bhadreshdas’s work in establishing the classical framework of Akshar-Purushottam Darshan within the Sanskrit Prasthantrayi tradition was a significant reason for the honor.
Vishwaprasanna Theertha praised the scholar’s philosophical contributions, while Senapati highlighted his international recognition as a Sanskrit and Vedanta scholar.
Bhadreshdas Swami has authored the Swaminarayan Bhashyam, Sanskrit commentaries on the Prasthanatrayi, the Upanishads, Brahma Sutras and Bhagavad Gita. He also wrote Swaminarayana Siddhanta Sudha, a Sanskrit work presenting the Akshar-Purushottam philosophical tradition.
He serves as head of the BAPS Swaminarayan Research Institute in New Delhi and as a distinguished professor at IIT Kharagpur and a distinguished visiting professor at IIT Roorkee. He holds an M.A., Ph.D. and D.Litt., as well as an honorary Doctor of Science degree from IIT Kharagpur.
Over the years, Bhadreshdas Swami has received several academic and literary honors, including the Sahitya Akademi Award, Saraswati Samman, Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Council of Philosophical Research, and the Mahamahopadhyaya title from Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University.
