Anil Menon demonstrates IV fluid production in space

The technology could reduce dependence on stored medical supplies during long-duration spaceflight.

Just days into his first mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS), Indian American NASA astronaut Anil Menon showcased an experiment that turns the station's drinking water into sterile intravenous (IV) fluid.

In a social media post shared from the ISS on July 17, Menon gave a behind-the-scenes look at the IVGEN Mini investigation while working alongside fellow NASA astronaut Jessica Meir inside the station's Life Sciences Glovebox.
