Alameda County, in California, will hold the annual National Day of Prayer on May.1 at the Alameda County Fairgrounds Amphitheatre. The event will be organized by the Alameda County District 1 Interfaith Advisory Council.
The event, organized by the Alameda County District 1 Interfaith Advisory Council, will begin with a reception and dinner at 5 PM, followed by patriotic music and the main program at 6 PM.
David Haubert, Alameda County District 1 Supervisor, and the Interfaith Advisory Council will host the sixth anniversary of the National Day of Prayer in Alameda. In a statement, as per Independent News, Haubert said the National Day of Prayer has a rich history dating back to the founding of the nation.

“During times of national strife, our country’s leaders have sought this day to bring the country together in prayer and reflection,” he explained. “It is a day that transcends religious and political affiliations, reminding us of our shared values and the need to come together in unity.”
The National Day of Prayer is embedded in the national proclamation, with the first event having occurred in 1775. The Continental Congress publicly declared that a day of fasting and prayer should be observed in all the colonies on July. 20, 1775.
