Air India launches nonstop Mumbai-Toronto flights
During the winter 2026-27 schedule, Air India will operate 20 weekly flights between India and Canada, including services to Toronto and Vancouver.

Air India announced Aug. 1 that it will launch a new seasonal nonstop service between Mumbai and Toronto this winter, expanding its Canada network and becoming the only airline to operate direct flights between the two cities.
The three-times-weekly service will begin on Oct. 25, 2026, and operate through March 26, 2027, to meet increased demand during the festive and holiday travel season.
The route will be served by Air India's upgraded Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring refurbished cabins with eight first class suites equipped with privacy sliding doors, 40 lie-flat business class seats and 280 economy seats. The aircraft will also offer onboard Wi-Fi, providing internet connectivity throughout the journey.

The new service will add nearly 2,000 seats each week between India and Canada. The airline said the new route is designed to strengthen connectivity for travelers visiting family and friends, while also supporting business and leisure travel between India's financial capital and Canada's largest city.
Passengers will be able to connect through Air India's Mumbai and Delhi hubs to destinations across India, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ludhiana and Vadodara.
“Canada is one of Air India's most important international markets, with deep people-to-people connections driving strong demand for travel, particularly during the festive and holiday season. The launch of our seasonal Mumbai-Toronto service this Winter will provide travellers more choice and convenience at a time when many are travelling to reunite with family and friends,” Nipun Aggarwal, Air India's chief commercial officer, said in a statement.
The Mumbai-Toronto announcement comes alongside broader upgrades to the airline's Canadian operations. Air India commenced its newest Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on Delhi-Toronto flights and expects all Toronto services to feature new or upgraded cabin interiors by January 2027.
