Kazim Ali wins 2025 Pegasus Award for poetry criticism

An Indian-origin writer, Ali was honored for his study on Lucille Clifton’s poetry.

Indian-origin writer and academic Kazim Ali has been named the recipient of the 2025 Pegasus Award for Poetry Criticism by the Poetry Foundation. 

Ali, born in the United Kingdom to Muslim parents of Indian descent, was recognized for his book 'Black Buffalo Woman: An Introduction to the Poetry and Poetics of Lucille Clifton'.
