Seattle Orcas on April 6 announced the launch of Boundary Builders, a new community-focused initiative aimed at expanding access to cricket and strengthening grassroots engagement across the Pacific Northwest.
The team said the new initiative will facilitate partnerships with local clubs, schools, and community organizations, with an aim to make cricket more accessible while nurturing the next generation of players.

According to a news release, Boundary Builders will focus on three key areas: grassroots development, community outreach, and growing long-term interest in the sport. Key components of the initiative include support for youth and adult development programs, expanded opportunities for women’s participation, and community-driven activations to increase visibility and engagement.
“Seattle is one of the most diverse and globally connected cities in the country, and cricket reflects that spirit,” said Jagan Nemani, senior vice president of operations for the team. “With Boundary Builders, we’re investing in our communities by creating pathways for young athletes, supporting local clubs, and building a sustainable future for cricket in the Pacific Northwest.”
Designed as a hyperlocal effort, the program will bring resources and programming directly to neighborhoods, from parks in King County to school campuses across the region. It also aims to connect and elevate existing cricket clubs while introducing the sport to new audiences through events and outreach.
The launch aligns with the broader rise of Major League Cricket in the United States, as the league continues to grow its footprint and fan base nationwide.
Looking ahead, the Orcas are exploring plans for a dedicated multi-use cricket community space that would serve as a hub for youth development, events, and cultural programming.
The team is inviting cricket clubs, schools, and community organizations across the Pacific Northwest to collaborate and become part of the Boundary Builders initiative, positioning the effort as a long-term investment in both sport and community.
