The presentation ceremony was attended by college president Frank H. Wu. Scholarship recipients included Rishayna Rokib, Ravneet Singh, Adnaan Ali, and Jennifer Chen.
In a LinkedIn post, Bhasin said Sammaan for All is “dedicated to empowering individuals from lower-economic strata through sustainable opportunities” and that the initiative reflects the organization’s belief that “everyone deserves to live with respect and dignity.”
“It was an honor to have Frank H. Wu, president of Queens College, join us for the occasion on April 22,” Bhasin wrote. “Beyond the awards, what stood out most was the energy and engagement from the five students - a reminder of why initiatives like this matter. Investing in education is investing in the future.”
She added, “Here’s to supporting more talent, creating more opportunities, and continuing to give back.”
Bhasin is also the founder and organizer of Diwali at Times Square, one of the largest Indian cultural celebrations outside India, held annually in New York City. She is president and CEO of New York-based ASB Communications and EventGuru Worldwide, companies focused on multicultural event marketing and management.
The philanthropist has been active in community leadership for more than three decades and was part of the reception committee during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 2014 visit to Madison Square Garden in New York. In July 2017, she also assisted the Indian-Israeli community in hosting a town hall meeting welcoming Modi during his U.S. visit.
Bhasin became a member of New York State’s Asian American and Pacific Islander Commission in December 2024.
