Indian-American business leader Indra Nooyi has praised the New York Knicks' dramatic Game 4 comeback in the NBA Finals, describing the victory as a powerful example of teamwork, self-belief, and resilience.
In a LinkedIn post following the Knicks’ 107-106 win over the San Antonio Spurs, Nooyi said she found the game “riveting” and called the team's second-half rally “spectacular.” She credited the Knicks’ performance to “unbelievable teamwork, calmness, belief in themselves and most importantly a can do spirit married with a must do responsibility.”

The win was one of the most remarkable comebacks in NBA Finals history. Trailing by 29 points, New York fought back to secure victory on an OG Anunoby tip-in with just 1.2 seconds remaining, taking a 3-1 lead in the championship series.
Nooyi also praised the Spurs for their performance, noting that both teams delivered a high-quality contest that kept fans engaged until the final moments.
Beyond the game itself, she highlighted the role of New York’s supporters, saying the energy inside the arena reflected the city's character and passion. She also acknowledged NBA commissioner Adam Silver for overseeing what she described as a well-organized Finals series.
The post attracted attention among sports fans and members of the Indian diaspora, many of whom have followed Nooyi’s career from her early years in Chennai to her rise as one of the world's most influential corporate leaders. As former chief executive of PepsiCo, Nooyi has often used public platforms to reflect on leadership lessons drawn from business, culture, and sports.
Her comments also echo reactions she has shared during other major sporting moments. Following India’s victory in the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup final, Nooyi praised the team's composure under pressure and ability to deliver in crucial moments, themes that resurfaced in her assessment of the Knicks’ performance.
For many Indian Americans, Nooyi's remarks serve as a reminder of how sports can transcend geography, connecting audiences through shared values such as perseverance, discipline, and teamwork.
She concluded her post with a simple message of support as the Knicks moved closer to a championship: “Fingers crossed for the next game. GO Knicks.”
