Global recognition for pioneer in soft-skilling sight disabled

The World Book of Records, London, UK recently felicitated Dr. Manu K. Vora for his global contributions to Quality Management, Leadership Excellence, Professional Education, and Social Empowerment, on Nov. 30.

During a virtual ceremony, Vora was presented with a ‘Certificate of Excellence’, by Shakti Tiwari, Secretary of the World Book of Records. Dr. Rajasekhar David, an Assistant Professor at IIM Ranchi served as the Co-Host of the event.

Vora, Founder and President of the Blind Foundation for India, has spearheaded transformative initiatives that have impacted millions. Through the Free Chakshu Daan Project, he and his team have raised over $7 million, providing free eyesight checkups to 2 million adults and children across India.

He has also been recognized for his pioneering work with the Free Gyan Daan Project, delivering a comprehensive Soft Skills Program that has empowered 1.2 million students, faculty, and professionals over 12 years, significantly enhancing employability.

Additionally, Vora serves as a Member of the AICTE NEP 2020 Implementation Plan Committee. His global contributions exemplify excellence, dedication, humility, and selfless service.

Dr. Mamta Rani Agarwal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Education, Government of India was the Chief Guest of the event and Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Chief Advisor (Global Health), Wadhwani Institute for Artificial Intelligence, USA was the Guest of Honour.

Vora dedicated the recognition to his parents, all his teachers, the 15 Million blind people in India, and all the Faculty across India for empowering their students to become responsible citizens of India. He also thanked the Blind Foundation for India Board Members and donors as well as members of his own family for their support.
