The family of missing 23-year-old Nihar "Mars" Mehta has offered a $10,000 reward for credible leads about the young man who has been missing since June 2, 2023. The renewed intensification of search by the local police departments and the Mehta family comes after multiple people claim to have sighted him recently.
Mehta went missing from Orange County, California, under suspicious circumstances, with his abandoned car being discovered on June 23 and some of his belongings being found under the direction of a man believed to be the landlord of the warehouse where he was last seen.
At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black NASA hoodie, black jeans, and black Converse shoes. He left on foot and has not been seen by friends or family since.
In recent months, a community member spotted someone resembling Mehta near Brookhurst Street and Westminster Avenue, in California. The family and private investigators have since confirmed additional sightings by independent witnesses in the same area.
Members of the local homeless community know him as "Mars".
Mehta's father and uncle, both physicians, traveled from Chicago to personally follow up on these leads and assist in the search, with strong concerns about his safety and mental well-being.
In hope of getting additional information, the family has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to Mehta's safe recovery.
Investigation in Mehta's sudden disappearance is underway. Police have released the name and photo of a 'Person of interest' in the case, Manual Chavez Zamudio (Manny). Police have, so far, been unable to trace the whereabouts of the 43-years-old Hispanic male, Manny.
The Orange county police have requested the community to call-in tips about the Mehta or Manny on (714) 744-7377.
