US President Donald J. Trump on Sept. 5 used the White House Rose Garden to debut what he called the “Rose Garden Club,” a gathering of lawmakers he praised as steadfast allies, while touting crime reduction in the nation’s capital and promising to extend similar measures to other U.S. cities.
“You are the ones that I never had to call at four o’clock in the morning,” Trump told the audience of lawmakers from the renovated Rose Garden. “You are the ones that have been my friends.”
