Indian American Congressman Suhas Subramanyam (D-Va.) on Sept. 9 condemned a series of attacks on Hindu temples across the United States, calling them part of a “rise in violence and division” that threatens religious freedom.

“Madam Speaker, hate has no place in our communities,” Subramanyam said on the House floor. “That’s why I condemned the recent hateful attacks on Hindu temples … sacred spaces for faith communities have been targeted with acts of hate, vandalism, and desecration. And these are not isolated incidents.”
