Democratic congressional hopeful Rakhi Israni has launched her first TV ad, highlighting her immigrant identity and quest to fight U.S. President Donald Trump’s policies.

Israni is contesting for California’s 14th Congressional District, which covers parts of the eastern Bay Area and includes diverse suburban communities with a significant population of professionals, immigrants, and families.

Spotlighting her roots in her first TV ad, Israni said, “My parents immigrated here looking for opportunity. They contributed to this country and built a better life for our family.”

She continued, “I lived in the East Bay for over 20 years, served my community and built an education company.”

Israni noted that both her parents and she herself established themselves as immigrant success stories and contributed to the country. She remarked, “I'm Rakhi Israni and my story is the American Dream.”

Sharing the ad on X, Israni remarked, “Today our first TV ad goes live across the East Bay. It's about my family. It's about yours. Watch and share.”

In the 30-second ad, Israni goes on to accuse President Trump of killing the American Dream that she and her parents lived.

Blaming “Donald Trump and ineffective politics,” she announced, “I'm running for Congress to stop Trump and ensure that every family (0:24) has the same opportunities as mine.”

Israni said on X, “The American Dream made my family. Trump and broken politics are taking it away from the next generation.”

Israni’s other campaign platforms include proposals such as term limits, banning stock trading by members of Congress, and setting mandatory retirement age limits for elected officials.

Her campaign has received endorsements from elected officials and community leaders, including Raja Krishnamoorthi, Jeff Rosen, Pete Dailey, Liang Chao, John Morada, Murali Srinivasan, Yang Shao, Richa Awasthi, Kathy Watanabe, Manisha Pathak, Vivek Prasad, Diana Ding, and Henry Liang.
