Indian American philanthropist Asha Jadeja Motwani has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reach out directly to US President Donald Trump to defuse escalating tensions between the two nations.

“America is a good friend and will always be a good friend of India. And vice versa,” Motwani said in a statement to 5WH. “Prime Minister Modi must reach out to President Trump and express his willingness to make a deal soon that will be fair to India and will still respect President Trump’s strategic thinking about putting pressure on Russia through economic means.”
