Her campaign has focused on investing in public schools, improving residents’ quality of life, and introducing innovation in local government. Singh, a technology consultant and longtime Wake County resident, has said she aims to promote people-centered governance and data-driven decision-making to strengthen county services.

A seasoned innovator and community advocate, Mona will champion people-centered governance and data-driven solutions to help every family in Wake County thrive,” the group said in a post on X.

The primary narrowed the Democratic field for the two at-large seats, with Singh and former Wake County school board member Christine Kushner emerging as the nominees who will move on to the Nov. 3, general election.

Wake County, which includes the state capital Raleigh and is among the fastest-growing counties in North Carolina, faces policy challenges related to population growth, housing, transportation, and education funding—issues that have featured prominently in the commissioner race.
