An Indian national was sentenced to more than 17 years in federal prison for smuggling nearly $8 million worth of MDMA into the United States, prosecutors said Sept. 3.
US District Judge Thomas O. Rice handed down the sentence on Aug. 29 to Jaskaran Singh, 31, of Punjab, India, for possession with intent to distribute 173.7 pounds of MDMA, also known as “Molly.” Singh, who had entered the country through the asylum process, will face removal from the United States after serving his prison term.
