Maheshwari Manasabha of North America hosted its 3rd Sakhi Reunion 2026, a three-day cruise aboard Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas, from Miami to the Bahamas.

The reunion brought together more than 125 participants, referred to as Sakhis, representing nine chapters across the United States and Canada. Attendees ranged in age from 25 to 75 and took part in activities centered on community building and cultural engagement.

The event was led by MMNA National Sakhi Leads Sheetal Baldawa, Smita Jaju, Mayuri Karwa and Neha Rathi, with guidance from advisors Poonam Bhutada, a board of trustee member, and Deepali Dargar of the National Executive Committee. Organizers said the event was supported by chapter Sakhi leads and chapter presidents.

The three-day program included a range of group activities such as Antakshari, musical performances, yoga, Zumba sessions, a DJ night, a cocktail evening and other games. Participants also took part in land excursions, used onboard cruise amenities and spent time at beaches in the Bahamas.

“From late-night conversations to meeting new friends across chapters, these three days created memories that will last a lifetime,” one participant said.

Organizers described the gathering as an instance of a women’s wing of an Indo-American social organization convening independently for a large-scale cruise event. They said the initiative aims to strengthen connections among members across regions.

The MMNA Sakhi initiative began in 2006 as a platform for Maheshwari women to build networks and leadership skills. Organizers said the 2026 reunion reflected continued growth in participation and coordination among chapters.

The event also highlighted inter-chapter engagement, with organizers noting improvements in planning and participation. They said the reunion aligned with MMNA’s broader goal of fostering relationships within the community while maintaining cultural ties.
