More than 1,000 devotees gathered at the John Cranford Adams Playhouse at Hofstra University on July 18 to attend a Guru Purnima program led by spiritual leader Sri Siddheshwar Brahmrishi Guruvar.

During the event, Siddheshwar announced plans to establish a new headquarters and ashram on more than 600 acres in Bengaluru, India. The first project at the campus will be an AI-equipped charitable hospital and medical college, funded through a donation from Florida entrepreneur Jugal Kishore Taneja.

Architectural plans for the circular, multistory facility were presented to the audience. Taneja and project architect Alberto Alfonso were also introduced.

Speaking on religion and spirituality, Siddheshwar distinguished Sanatana Dharma from organized religion, describing dharma as eternal while arguing that religious traditions must remain open to refinement and inquiry.

The gathering attracted participants from across the United States and Canada, including more than 100 visitors from outside New York and a delegation from Toronto.

The event began with a guided meditation session led by facilitator Shilpa Mehta, introducing participants to breathing techniques and meditation practices. Mehta also conducted a four-hour "Siddhasana – The Power of Soul" retreat the following day in New Hyde Park, attended by about 150 participants.

Organizers also announced the upcoming release of "Siddhi," a documentary by filmmaker Neha Lohia exploring Siddheshwar's spiritual teachings and practices.
