Indian American singers compete at Atlanta Bollywood talent hunt

The organizers described the event as an effort to discover and encourage hidden musical talent in the Atlanta area.

A musical talent hunt celebrating Bollywood music was recently held in Atlanta, bringing together aspiring singers from across the local Indian American community.

The event featured performers of different age groups, including senior citizens and people with disabilities, providing a platform for local talent to showcase their singing abilities.

The program was organized by Mustafa Ajmeri along with Mayank Shah and Krishan Goyal.

The organizers described the event as an effort to discover and encourage hidden musical talent in the Atlanta area.

The evening featured live performances by local singers including Jeel Ranpura, Diya Patel, Akshita Jagadeesan, Sripriya Srinivas, Aashi Allani, Swathi Kamaraju, Geeta Khanna, Bhadresh Shah, Pankaj Bhargava, Vipul Parmar, Alpesh Doshi and Anwar Ali.

Participants performed classic and contemporary Bollywood songs before an audience of community members and invited guests.

Bollywood actor and playback singer Abbas Ali Mirza attended the event as a celebrity guest performer and judge. Mirza is a Bollywood playback singer known for his soulful voice and recent hits like "Saath Nibhana" from the film Vijeyta.

A chartered accountant by profession, he is also an international performer with several albums and serves as chief mentor and jury member for music platforms such as International Indian Icon.

Mirza, who is also an author, performed several songs during the program and interacted with participants.

Bollywood playback singer Anupama Chakraborty Srivastava and music composer Rajan Sharma also attended the event, offering feedback to contestants and entertaining the audience with live performances.

Winners of the talent competition were selected based on criteria including voice quality, pitch, musical expression and stage performance.

Organizers thanked several community leaders and guests for supporting the event, including Lavnya Shah, Siraj Khan, Karishma Virani, Dr. Ranpura, Anwar Ajmeri, Alibhai and Noorbhai.
