India defeats Japan to enter finals of Junior Womenâ€™s Hockey Asia Cup

The finals will take place in Santiago, Chile, from November 29 to December 10, 2023.

The Indian Junior Women's Hockey team pipped host Japan 1-0 in the semi-final at the Junior Asia Cup 2023 at Kakamigahara, Gifu Prefecture, Japan, on June 10. The game's lone goal was scored by Sunelita Toppo in the 47th minute.

With the win, the Indian team, which had previously advanced to the finals in 2012, will play in the tournament's final for the second time. By sealing a berth in the finals India has also qualified for the FIH Junior Hockey Women's World Cup 2023, which will take place in Santiago, Chile from November 29 to December 10, 2023.
