Cautious recovery in India–U.S. ties after 2025 ‘wobbles,’ expert says

India’s relationship with the United States in 2025 saw early diplomatic momentum followed by trade friction and geopolitical disagreements, but is now stabilizing as both sides look toward a potentially more productive 2026, a senior U.S.-based India expert said.
“It’s definitely been an up and down,” Richard Rossow, senior adviser and chair on India and Emerging Asia Economics at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, told IANS in an interview, reflecting on bilateral ties over the past year.
