When Manish Agarwal took the podium at the Indian American Business Impact Group’s annual GovCon summit, he didn’t bring a polished victory speech. He got scars — stories of lost contracts, near-bankruptcy, and the grit that turned a $40 million startup into a $400 million success story.

The ballroom in McLean fell quiet as Manish Agarwal — a former KPMG partner and now a sought-after GovCon strategist — began to recount his journey. “I used to think I was fairly successful,” he said. “I ran operations in 16 countries, and then I started my own company — and nearly lost everything.”
