Second Lady of the United States Usha Vance said that the U.S.-India bilateral relationship is in a moment of strong momentum. “I think this is a time of great opportunity,” she said. She also described it as “very personal” during a fireside chat at the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum’s (USISPF) eighth annual Leadership Summit, held at the Waldorf Astoria in Washington, D.C on June 2.

“It is a very personal relationship, because I have family members who are in India, and I have many family members in the United States,” said Vance, the Indian American wife of Vice President J.D. Vance. “That's always been a relationship that I've personally thought was very important.”
