USCIS Overhauls Civics Test for Immigrant

September 2025 175 views 1:59

Starting October 20, 2025, green card holders applying for U.S. citizenship will face a tougher civics test. The updated exam expands from 100 to 128 questions, and applicants must now answer 12 out of 20 correctly to pass. USCIS says the changes are meant to restore integrity to the naturalization process — but for many, it means longer preparation and a higher risk of failure.

This video breaks down the key changes, what they mean for immigrants, and why U.S. citizenship is no longer guaranteed forever.
