  • Fast-Track Immigration: Major Relief for NRIs & OCI Holders

Fast-Track Immigration: Major Relief for NRIs & OCI Holders

September 2025 110 views 1:54

India has expanded its Fast Track Immigration – Trusted Traveller Program (FTI–TTP) to five more airports, making it active at 13 airports across the country. Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the program at Lucknow, Thiruvananthapuram, Trichy, Kozhikode, and Amritsar via video conference.

The system allows registered passengers, including Indian passport holders and OCI cardholders, to clear immigration in just 30 seconds using e-gates and biometric verification.

At Amritsar Airport, eight automated e-gates have been installed, making the process faster and smoother for NRIs and overseas Indians. The FlyAmritsar Initiative welcomed the move, calling it a “major relief” for international travelers.

With international travel rising rapidly, this expansion marks a big step toward seamless, secure, and world-class airport experiences in India.
