राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप के उस बयान की भारत में जमकर आलोचना हो रही है, जिसमें उन्होंने यूएस की दृष्टि में भारत और पाकिस्तान को समान बताया और कश्मीर मुद्दे पर फिर से स्पष्ट कुछ कहने से किनारा किया। यूएस राष्ट्रपति ने ऐसे में समय में पाकिस्तान की तुलना भारत से की है, जब आतंक के सफाए के लिए वैश्विक समुदाय भारत की ओर देख रहा है। भारत के प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने यूएस के राष्ट्रपति के बयान पर कोई प्रतिक्रिया नहीं दी लेकिन कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता शशि थरूर ने ट्रंप को निशाने पर लिया। थरूर ने यहां तक कह डाला कि भारत और पाकिस्तान की सीमा पर सीजफायर में अमेरिका की मध्यस्थता की कोई जरूरत नहीं थी।
