Arvind C. Gandhi

The Indian American community in New Jersey is mourning the passing of Arvind C. Gandhi, who died on the afternoon of February 13, 2026, at JFK Hospital in Edison, New Jersey, following a brief age-related illness. He was 82. Mr. Gandhi was the father of Paresh Gandhi, former chief photographer of India Abroad newspaper from 1999-2018, and currently serving as Police Special Ambassador in Woodbridge Township, NJ.
Originally from Surat, Gujarat, Mr. Arvind Gandhi worked for many years with the Gujarat Industrial Cooperative Bank before retiring. In 2006, he moved to the United States with his wife Manjula, to live with his son Paresh in Iselin, NJ. He was later joined in the US by his two other sons and their families. Over the past 19 years, he became well known among family and friends for his simple lifestyle, deep spirituality, and strong family values. He remained closely connected to his community and was admired for his calm demeanor and compassionate nature.
Mr. Gandhi is survived by his wife, Manjula Gandhi, his three sons, Balkrushna, Paresh and Vikram, and their families, and extended relatives in the United States and India. Family members remember him as a devoted husband, loving father, and guiding pillar of the household. Funeral puja and last rites were held on February 16, 2026, in Jamesburg, New Jersey. The community extends its heartfelt condolences to the Gandhi family during this time of loss.
