After the performance, Khan basked in the success of the performance and beamed on his Instagram story, "@thegarden Kha liya hai", describing how he has conquered The Madison Square Garden.
Indian American comedians Hasan Minhaj and Indian YouTuber and comedian Tanmay Bhatt were also present at the MSG, in support of Khan.
Khan's performance was a part of his ongoing North America tour. Ahead of the show, posters of the show lit up the Times Square. Also, in preparation of the historic show, Khan appeared on numerous US media outlets, including Fox 5 and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. He also met Indian chef Vikas Khanna, owner of the popular New York restaurant 'Bungalow', before the show. Khanna noted on Instagram that he will be celebrating Khan's historic performance by "serving sesame & caramel barfi to honor his (Khan's) parents."
Khan had previously expressed joy and excitement over his MSG performance during the Fox 5 interview and said, "Madison Square Garden was never part of the plan—it felt like a place for big movie stars, not for boys from Indore. But sometimes life goes beyond your dreams."
Khan has previously chalked history by becoming the first Asian comedian to perform solo at London's Royal Albert Hall in 2023. He has also created waves of joy among his fans with performances at other major venues like the Sydney Opera House.
