Senior Congress MP Shashi Tharoor dismissed any possibility of talks with Pakistan until it takes credible action against terrorism, using a sharp analogy to make India’s stance clear.

"If your neighbour attacks your children with their attack dogs and then says, ‘Let’s talk,’ will you talk to them until they put away the attack dogs or euthanize them or lock them up?" Tharoor asked. "They’ve done none of those things."

He was speaking at a press briefing at the Indian Embassy in Washington DC on June 4, following a series of meetings with U.S. lawmakers as part of an All-Party Delegation.
