Indian actor Allu Arjun on May 1 said that the World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) will be a springboard for India's creative rise as the country is ready to lead the world in storytelling and content creation.

Speaking at a session titled ‘Talent Beyond Borders’ at the inaugural WAVES 2025, held in Mumbai, the National Award-winning actor said, “India has always had the soul. Now, we have the stage. I believe WAVES will be a launching pad for India to lead the world in creative content.”

The session was moderated by Barun Das, managing director and CEO of TV9 Network. It explored Arjun’s artistic evolution, his perspective on Indian cinema’s global future, and the challenges of sustaining a career in a competitive and rapidly changing industry.

Recounting a major accident that led to a six-month break from work, the Pushpa actor said the period marked a turning point. “That pause was a blessing in disguise,” he said. “It made me shift my gaze inward, from stunts to substance. I realized, as the muscles fade, the mastery must rise. Acting became my new frontier.”

Arjun also confirmed a new collaboration with director Atlee, describing the upcoming film as “a visual spectacle rooted in Indian emotion.” “We’re blending international technology with Desi Soul—a film for India and from India to the world,” he said.

Touching upon the changing dynamics of the entertainment sector, he said, “There are extraordinary young actors emerging in every language. You must stay authentic, stay hungry, and be versatile. This is not just an industry, it’s a battlefield of creativity, resilience, and evolution.”

In an emotional moment, Arjun acknowledged the influence of his family, including his grandfather Allu Ramalingaiah, father and producer Allu Aravind, and his uncle, actor Chiranjeevi. “I’m not a self-made man,” he said. “I’ve grown with the guidance, support, and greatness of those around me. I’m blessed.”

He ended by attributing his strength to his audience. “When the lights dim and the applause fades, it is you who lift me. It is you who remind me why I do this. My energy… is you.”
