Any attempt by the United States to mediate the Kashmir conflict between India and Pakistan would be counterproductive and risk damaging Washington’s ties with New Delhi, a former Trump administration official told lawmakers on May 22.
Lisa Curtis, who served as President Donald Trump's South Asia advisor in his first term and is now the Director of the Indo-Pacific Security Program at the Center for a New American Security, warned Congress against U.S. interference in the decades-old Kashmir issue.
