United Senior Pariwar of Chicago celebrates 18th anniversary

Consul General Ghosh encouraged senior citizens to remain socially connected and support one another, emphasizing community care as a core Indian value.

The United Senior Pariwar of Chicago (USPC) celebrated its 18th Anniversary on June 13, 2026, in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Organized at the National India Hub, the event was filled with entertainment and fellowship, celebrating USPC's journey over the past eighteen years.

The annual celebration featured singers Sanjay Vasita and Shefali Goswami singing hit Bollywood songs. They were accompanied by the local musician orchestra, Hitesh Master and his group.

The festivities featured a cultural and community gathering that included music, dancing, and recognition of members and supporters.

The event opened with a lamp-lighting ceremony led by Consul General of India Somnath Ghosh, along with USPC President Ramesh Chokshi, Secretary Bhanu Vyas, and other community leaders. Acharya Rohit Joshi recited Vedic mantras during the ceremony.

Secretary Bhanu Vyas welcomed the Consul General, invited guests, and USPC members. He also paid tribute to USPC pioneers Raman A. Patel and Mafat Patel for founding the organization 18 years ago and acknowledged Raman Patel's years of leadership and guidance.

President Ramesh Chokshi presented a floral bouquet to Consul General Ghosh, while Virendra Patel welcomed National India Hub owner Harish Kolsani.

In his address, Consul General Ghosh praised the contributions of Indian immigrants and described the Indian American community as an important bridge between India and the United States.

He also encouraged senior citizens to remain socially connected and support one another, emphasizing community care as a core Indian value.

Harish Kolsani highlighted the work of NRI Seva, a nonprofit organization that provides support services to senior citizens, and expressed his support for hosting community events.

USPC also recognized members celebrating birthdays in June. Sweets were distributed and best wishes were extended for their health, happiness, and prosperity. The sweets were donated by .

Special recognition was given to the Kitchen Committee led by Jagdish Hingu, as well as volunteers and Executive Committee members whose efforts contributed to the program's success.

Treasurer Kirit Pandya thanked sponsors including Air Tours, Patel Brothers, Dynasty Home Care, Care for Soul, World Money Exchange, UMAS Home Care, Rishit and Nupur Shah, Satish Patel, Sohan Joshi of Modern Accounting, and Relia Care for their support.
