Two Indian-origin students, Srishti Garg from Arizona State University and Devangi Deoras from Michigan State University, have been recognized by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as part of its 2025 Supply Chain Excellence Awards.
Garg is one of 21 students nationwide to receive the prestigious $30,000 fellowship award, while Deoras was named among 13 honorable mentions. Deoras will receive a $15,000-worth award.
The MIT Supply Chain Management (SCM) master’s program announced the awards last week, honoring 34 undergraduate students from nine top U.S. institutions for their academic excellence in supply chain management and industrial engineering. These annual awards also come with conditional acceptance to the SCM master’s program, and this year, they represent over $800,000 in total fellowship funding.
The 21 award winners and 13 honorable mentions were selected from schools affiliated with the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics. These include Arizona State University, Michigan State University, Penn State University, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Lehigh University, Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (Mexico), Purdue University, Syracuse University, and University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Students who receive the awards are expected to gain two to five years of work experience before applying to MIT’s SCM program. The fellowship amount can be applied toward tuition either at MIT or at any of the affiliated centers in the MIT Supply Chain and Logistics Excellence (SCALE) network.
The Supply Chain Excellence Awards have been presented annually since 2013 to strengthen graduate study opportunities and advance the field of logistics and supply chain.
