Sergio Gor, President Donald Trump’s nominee to be the next U.S. Ambassador to India, told senators on Sept. 11 that the “deep friendship” between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi would serve as a powerful foundation for strengthening ties between the two countries.
“Our president has a deep friendship with Prime Minister Modi, and that is something that is unique,” Gor said at his confirmation hearing.
