Trump claims economic come back, blasts media for fake inflation talk

Trump strongly criticized what he called “horrendous frauds” in the media for misreporting economic conditions, particularly claims that inflation is rising.

President Donald Trump on Aug.5 declared that the American economy has rebounded from near collapse and is now “the hottest country anywhere in the world,” while forcefully rejecting media reports of rising inflation and consumer hardship.

“We were a dead country… And now you've got the hottest country anywhere in the world,” Trump said in the Oval Office, speaking at a joint press appearance with Apple CEO Tim Cook.
