India pacer Mohammed Siraj celebrated Raksha Bandhan with singer Asha Bhosle’s granddaughter Zanai Bhosle, a video of which has drawn attention on social media. In the clip, posted jointly by Zanai and Siraj on Instagram, Zanai is seen tying a Rakhi on Siraj’s wrist. “Happy Rakhi. Couldn’t have asked for better,” Zanai captioned the post.

The video circulated widely, prompting speculation about the nature of their relationship. Both Siraj and Zanai clarified that they share a brother-sister bond.

The celebration comes shortly after Siraj’s successful outing in England, where he was India’s leading wicket-taker in the Test series with 23 wickets. He bowled over 185 overs across five matches, playing every Test, while fellow pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah was rested for two games due to workload management. Siraj’s performances earned him the Player of the Match award in the fifth Test at The Oval.

Following the series, Siraj reached a career-high 674 points in the ICC Men’s Test Bowler Rankings, climbing 12 places to 15th. This marks his highest-ever ranking in Test cricket.

The Raksha Bandhan video, combining a personal moment with one of Indian cricket’s standout performers of the season, has become one of the most shared posts from the festival in the sporting community this year.
