The SIKHlens Sikh Arts and Film Festival opened on Nov. 21 in Santa Ana, California, for a three-day run at The Frida Cinema, bringing a full slate of screenings and conversations focused on Sikh heritage, filmmaking, and storytelling.
The festival, held in partnership with the UC Irvine School of Humanities, began with a Red Carpet Opening Night followed by short films and a featured presentation.

Screenings continue throughout the weekend with films from emerging and established Sikh filmmakers. Each night closes with a major feature title, including 'Chal Mera Putt 4,' 'Akaal: The Unconquered,' 'Sardaar Ji 3,' and 'Mittran Da Challeya Truck Ni.'
A key program returning this year is the “Creative Sikhs” session, where writers and filmmakers discuss their work and experiences in a live Q&A.
Organizers said the festival aims to showcase a broad spectrum of Sikh narratives and create space for cultural exchange. "Calling all art lovers, film enthusiasts, and champions of cultural diversity!" the announcement said, inviting audiences to engage with films that explore identity, history, and community.
Many of the films on the schedule were developed through Sikhlens initiatives intended to support artists and expand representation of Sikh stories on screen.
Tickets are available through local gurdwaras or via The Frida Cinema’s ticketing platform. The festival continues its effort to bring communities together through Sikh film and literature in an immersive, multi-day setting.
