Shivam Dhol Tasha group creates ripples at FIFA World Cup

FIFA World Cup fans danced to the beats of Shivam Dhol Tasha, a Texas based non-profit organization, showing a proud moment for Indians and representing  Maharastra’s rich musical heritage during various performances lined before the onset of FIFA World Cup games 2026.

Shivam Dhol Tasha Pathak is believed to be the only Indian and South Asian performing arts ensemble selected to perform on the main stage of the Dallas FIFA Fan Festival, and potentially across all FIFA World Cup 2026 Fan Festivals in North America. The selection marks a significant milestone for the organization, bringing this century old musical Maharashtrian tradition to one of the world’s biggest sporting celebrations.

Founded in 2014, Shivam Dhol Tasha Pathak is a volunteer driven non-profit organization committed to preserving and promoting Maharashtra’s traditional Dhol Tasha In North America. The FIFA Fan Festival serves as the official public celebration of the FIFA World Cup, featuring live match broadcasts, entertainment, music and cultural performances throughout the tournament.

Shivam has represented India at several high-profile events, including the Howdy Modi community reception in Houston, the ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup opening ceremony, the 60th U.S. Presidential Inaugural Parade, and halftime performances for the Dallas Mavericks (NBA), Dallas Stars (NHL) and FC Dallas (MLS), in addition to numerous multicultural festivals and civic celebrations across the United States.

“This opportunity is much bigger than our organization," said co-founders Harish Nehate and Nikhil Potbhare in a joint statement. “Shivam has always been built on discipline, rigorous training, and an uncompromising commitment to quality. Our mission is not simply to perform , but to preserve Maharashtra’s traditional Dhol Tasha in its original spirit and present it with authenticity, precision, and professionalism on the world’s biggest stage. The dedication of our volunteers has become the very DNA OF Shivam “, they said. 

Following a strong response to its initial performances, Dallas FIFA Fan Festival organizers invited the group to return for additional appearances, including a featured performance during the FIFA World Cup Final Fan Festival celebrations on July 19, alongside Dallas’s professional sports mascots.
